PRADSA hotseat - How do we evaluate our impact?

Hi again,
Our next hotseat is now open and Steve Walker invites your participation
with "Evaluation is often seen as a necessary evil: a requirement for
financial support. It can often feel like that, certainly. When we're trying
to understand how to use novel technologies, though, evaluation can be an
important part of the learning process. After all, it's the opportunity for
us to understand technologies 'in the wild': and our 'wild' is often very
different from that of business or government whence many technologies
originate.

How then, can we organise evaluation as a learning process, in
this case, about technology?"

For the next fortnight, Clodagh Miskelly and Steve Walker will explore how
we can use evaluation to enhance our effectiveness. Steve's work in
evaluating large scale projects has required that he take a more structured
and formal approach, whereas Clodagh has worked with small groups using in
depth dialogue. By bringing them together we aim to engage our diverse range
of social activist colleagues in dialogue.
Welcome to our inaugural hotseat!

Alan is opening our hotseat season with a challenge for us to explore how we
can protect and extend the gains we've made with open software.

http://hs.technologyandsocialaction.org/node/32

To contribute and see it in its full glory, you'll need to log into our
PRADSA website. http://www.technologyandsocialaction.org/
If you've forgotten you password, just select the change your password here.
Unless you've created your own account, your login will be your first name
and surname.

MyWeb2

Tried to dop an RSS feed into Drupal to fire stuff in from the project
blog but failed (for now) therefore posting this in via mail list.

Google Apps finally verified the domain MyWeb2.org.uk - I remain
slightly unconvinced. It's a convoluted mess of stuff - slightly
kludgy. I do somewhat prefer the iGoogle approach of bringing google
gizmos together. I'll stick with it a while. Guess I need some early
testers to give it a whirl. I think the problem with this "make it
easy one size fits all" is you lose the ability to give your users
